"Just don't let it become a habit."
*YAWN* Hobble out of the den. *YAWN* again. I'm out of hiding. The cold had this lioness of writing performing in slo-mo. The doyen of blogging, however, is back. Even my friends are suprised to see me back.
"What's she doing here?"
The dudes below think to themselves. This lack of blogging got me thinking of habits.
A habit is an action done on a regular basis. How long does it take to make something a habit? I have been blogging for almost a year now. Yet, I sometimes question the lifespan of my blog. I have been exercising 5 days a week since August 1. That is four full months now. Still dreading the next time I have to run, but at the same time praying for that habit's long shelf-life. I am a newbie to the coffee scene. Used to hate coffee. Thought people used to sit in Starbucks because they thought they looked cool. Well, actually, I still think that. But I have somehow picked up this habit whose taste I once despised. And that morning coffee is an easy one to keep. If I haven't consumed it I'm thinking about wanting to consume it.
So why is it that the bad habits are easy to keep, but the good ones kick, scream, and fight back in a plea to actually not become a full-fledged habit? Some say something becomes a habit after doing it for 30 days. All I know is that I have been blogging, running, swimming well over 30 days. So there that is, I suppose it's a habit. Cut and dry, that's all I needed. . So now I know what constitutes a habit, lets take a look at my list.
My Habits:
- weightlifting
- swimming
- running
- eating a ton
- drinking coffee
- expressing love and friendship
- talking to my mom on the phone
- reading the International Herald Tribune
- watching LOST on dvd
- Biting my nails
- Putting on a little bit of makeup
- keeping track of my cell phone
- getting frustrated with traffic
- teaching English
- buying cheap japanese clothes
- getting fired up about something small
- thinking of a new and innovative "get rich quick" scheme
I'm sure the list goes on. Habits consume our lives. What are your habits?

I have 3 habits, one I've had for 31 years, another 26 years and the other 3.5 months. They are the good habits, the bad habits are too numerous to name.
that's cute mom.. ;) I know you are addicted to me ;)
