March 4, Sunday Night

At this point in the night, my mind was on one thing - food. Luckily for us, Kobe doesn't slow on a sunday night. We hit the jackpot with the funky, "Asian Kitchen." Situated in a sperm of restuarants this one caught our eye. The decor was layered, lacquered, plastered and grooved. Each table had it's own outcove, papered with grooved concrete. The tables were in tiny rooms within the big room of the restaurant.

The bamboo ceiling above us was layered below pipes which covered the original ceiling. In addition to the intimate ambience we munched a medley of spicy thai, chinese and vietnamese cuisine. All with a twist tailored to the Japanese taste bud.

Let me sign off tonight by testing your's: deep battered spring rolls stuffed with eggplant and cheese. Crusted shrimp drizzled with tangy chili sauce and mayo. Gyoza fill in fried tiny rolls. Semifrozen coconut chunks on a bed of chocolate sauce topped with whipped cream and caramel sauce.

I had to be rolled out of the restaurant up the steep climb to my tippety-top hostel. My satiated belly induced sleep into my body. What a feeling.
