An "Engaging" Weekend

Once upon a time, amidst a drooping tent, staggering cliffs and crystal clear water, one lady's fate was sealed. Roughing it, is what they call it. I'm not just talking about camping, I am talking about camping in a tent with no poles. Thanks to plenty of ropes and a resourceful certain handsome someone -- initials G.A. -- we persevered, and our tent did too.

The destination was Takachiho Gorge, where a relaxing weekend of canoeing, painting by the river and strolling the wooded paths were the only things included on this couple's "roughing it" agenda.


But destiny had a different plan. The handsome, once resourceful but now sly lad, slipped an addendum to the itinerary. Ever-so-smoothly whipping out his guitar, he serenaded the lucky lady with a song conjured from emotions within his heart, some silly and some serious. The couple then shared a kiss. Her beau stepped back, took one deep breath and asked the smiling lady if she would let him sing to her forever. He reached into a pocket, and showed his woman the perfect ring for her. He then asked for her hand in marriage. She said of course she'd marry him, she'd marry him a thousand times over.
