Gunman in Sasebo 3 Hours Ago

update: The man was found dead, after having shot himself, on the grounds of a nearby church. One person he shot was his good friend. The other was his high school classmate. Japan is a safe country. Hello Captain Obvious. Once in awhile freak out of the ordinary things happen in small places.

Tonight, in my small city of Sasebo, a gunman entered the city's only large scale sports gym and opened fire. a 26-year old female swimming instructor died, a 30-year old man is in critical condition and two kids were injured along with three others.

The gunman -- disguised in a motorbike helmet -- escaped in a camouflage suit. It's 10:30 pm Friday night now, this just happened three hours ago. I phoned the five (YES FIVE) people I know that regularly go there on friday nights (two of which are kids) and they are ok. My one kid student left her tennis lesson just 30 mins before.

But still, that poor woman. She was doing her job in a safe place and gunned down. May she, her family, the man in critical condition and his family be in our prayers.
